JOB SUMMARY:
Accounts receivable specialists oversee billing operations and processes to ensure collection of account balances. This usually entails billing for invoiced orders, supporting collection efforts, and reviewing account disrepancies. Most accounts receivable specialists have an associate's degree in accounting. The best accounts receivable specialists have a knack for numbers, are very outcome oriented, and have strong prioritization skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate Degree, Accounting
- A minimum of 2-3 years relevant experience
- Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of accounting principles, concepts, practices, and procedures in the completion of complex assignments
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Generate and send invoices (electronic and paper), by order and through our progress billing solutions, for parts, service, machines and other commercial sales
- Process cash receipts from customers and apply cash to appropriate orders and line items, including any necessary research to resolve unapplied/unmatched payments
- Generate aging reports and collect on all past due invoices
- Generate customer statements.
- Process credit notes and refunds
- Maintain accounts receivable customer files and records
- Process credit card payments
- Communicate with customers via phone, email, mail or personally
- Support timely and high quality month-end closing
- Prepare reports and metrics as required
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of common accounting software packages
- Proficiency with MS Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Communicates effectively and professionally
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Problem solving and critical thinking
- Ability to collaborate within team and cross-functionally
- Action oriented and accountable
