JOB SUMMARY:
A teacher assistant supports the lead teacher in the classroom. They follow supervision to give students added educational support and instruction, allowing the lead teacher in charge to focus on classroom instruction. While most assistants help with everything from tutoring to creating lesson plans, their day-to-day life can look different based on the school and age of the students they teach.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
- Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
- Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
- CPR Certification (Preferred)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Assistant Teacher will assist the Lead Teacher which includes, but is not limited to:
- Follow curriculum and daily schedule
- Keep a clean classroom (follow proper sanitation protocol)
- Keep classroom organized
- Meet children’s basic needs (diapers, attention, etc.)
- Complete child’s daily paperwork
- Participate in parent communication
- Monitor classroom in Lead Teacher absence
- Attend bi-monthly staff meetings
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
- Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
- Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
